The concept of authoritative state is gradually becoming obsolete. The rise of sharing economies with reputation models, digital contracts and cryptocurrencies makes the role of central governments useless. In this era, you might share more with random people from other parts of the world than you do with your neighbors.
Come and join us at the 3rd Hackers Congress Paralelní Polis with hundreds of technology enthusiasts, tech-entrepreneurs, activists and cryptoanarchists to celebrate the age of digital freedom and decentralization!
The congress starts on Friday, 30th of September at 13:00 and ends on Sunday, 2nd of October at 18:00. The venue opens at 9:00 each day. Official laguange of HCPP16 is English.
This year we are scaling the whole congress up! With more than 40 expected speakers from various fields such as the freedom movement, cryptoanarchy, sharing economy, cryptocurrencies, political art, hacking and much more.

I will be reflecting on thirty years of crypto anarchy, my name for the version of a kind of anarchy where cryptographic tools provide the means for an un-coerced network of voluntary transactions. Many of the expected technologies have been realized: widespread encryption, anonymous remailers like TOR, file-sharing tools like BitTorrent. And most notably, Bitcoin and Blockchain-based systems. Ethereum for smart contracts and autonomous organizations. The prospects are bright.

A negative blocksize for an honest digital money: Bitcoin – like gold – is a money as honest as a money can be. Decentralization is key to that honesty and decentralization demands us to aim for a negative blocksize, not a bigger one. Here's why.
Lasha Antadze currently oversees the implementation of blockchain technology as a basis for Ukraine’s state property auction system. Amanda B. Johnson is a cryptocurrency analyst and avid fan of Dash. She wrote for Bitcoin Magazine, Bitcoin.com and CoinTelegraph before creating her own analysis series on YouTube called The Daily Decrypt. She's now the host and writer of a Dash-focused weekly show called DASH: Detailed.
Though it has many downsides, centralization has one thing going for it: efficiency. Centralized systems are frequently able to save it time and costs due to their structure, which makes them difficult to compete with. It also makes it difficult for networks to remain decentralized, when it's just so tempting for them to slip into a top-down command model. How does Dash -- a decentralized currency network -- hope to combat this trend? We think it starts with proper individual incentives, and ends with proper architectured governance. Here's how we do it, and why so many are trying to copy us.
To give you an overview, I have been heavily involved with the cryptocurrency scene since 2013. Since then I have been active throughout numerous communities, and have helped to distribute their work. I have also worked for an online news based website, first as a journalist and then as the CCO. I have since moved on and now I mainly speak at conferences. I am focused on blockchain technology itself and how it can be used to address many of the problems that exist today.
I have been experimenting with Purely Cold Showers, Meditation, No Fab, Raw diets and have been a Vegetarian for nearly 5 years. I would like to shed some light on some important lessons i have learnt along the way to keeping your mind and body fit. Inspired by Wim Hof, i set myself the goal of swimming in the canals of Utrecht, a small city in the Nederlands by the winter time. The changes, challenges and experiences along the way have taught me many valuable lessons. I hope to inspire you towards a better state of mind.
We have now witnessed many emerging decentralized technologies and projects, from BITNATION to Storj and beyond. Some, such as DAO nearly fell through due to limited knowledge on the field, which in turn led many to gain a much better understanding of the issues that can be experienced and other important factors that can and hopefully will lead to a better overall design and security. I would like to compare our historical path involving technologies such as the car, electricity and so forth and the patterns of human behaviour and adoption rates. I believe we are on the path of some significant changes in the next few years and Bitcoin and its blockchain technology has set the scene for this change. Furthermore, i would like to raise some awareness of other communities that are gaining strength, such as meshing communities and off-the-grid co-working and co-living spaces that are emerging in countries such as Spain and Nederlands. Lastly, i would like to share my experience from participating in the EU Commision event titled "Blockchains for Social Good" - https://ec.europa.eu/digital-single-market/en/news/blockchains-social-good.

In this talk we'll look at structural properties of decentralization from Taleb-ian point of view. Why don't the apparent benefits of centralization offset the risk of ruin? Why we should aim for decentralization in government but be careful what we wish for? What are the common asymetries between state and its citizens? Are there worse than information asymetries in the market? Why are monocultures dangerous?
In previous years I had a talk about why I think Liberty is a DIY project - that it's a personal responsibility of each and every one of us. What are some of the best hacks to be more free, improve your brain and bodily function?

Kevin is a graduate of DCU’s Law and Society programme which he undertook because of his desire to promote social justice and activism. As the founder of Tír na Saor-Land of the Free, Kevin has been involved in the promotion of personal freedom since 2009. Since graduating he has also founded the Brehon Law Academy to teach others about early Irish law and culture and to highlight the benefits of an anarchic society using real examples from Ireland’s history.
For thousands of years Ireland lived under a native set of laws and customs, known today as the Brehon Law. During this time, Ireland was ‘stateless’, there was no central authority making laws, issuing decrees or collecting taxes, there were no police force or prisons, and judges did not have the authority to enforce their decisions. But still, at this time, Ireland was seen to be a great centre for advanced learning, the arts, and spirituality, so much so that it earned the title: Insular Sanctorum et Doctorum – the Island of Saints and Scholars; not a bad title for what was in effect ‘anarchy’. In this discussion Kevin will be making the case that principles of anarchy have been tried, there are historical examples that worked, and there are valuable lessons for today's world to be learned from the past.
I am a self learned entrepreneur, traveling the world. 2014 I co-produced a documentary movie on free learning spaces named Schools of Trust. Free, self-directed learning is our nature and it's meant to be hyper-decentralized because everyone has a unique way to learn most effective and with passion.
What do homo sapiens and Alligators have in common? They both need proteins. What is the difference? The Alligator can wait for weeks until his potential food walks by. Humans can’t wait that long without being into heavy thoughts about the world and feeling a deep craving to explore and to learn. Sience and it’s eudcation is part of our nature. But the centralized, planned education kills curiosity and the initiative of one’s one. Disruptive education is the future.

"The first popular cryptomarket (Silk Road) was of course unique, but relatively simple - a single server with no decentralization, no multi-sig or anonymous cryptocurrency support. The goal of the presentation is to show that government financial dictatorship leads to significant improvement of cryptomarket security. Police and government agency raids were the main reason all cryptomarkets had to improve their overall security to survive and keep their business running. A new generation of cryptomarket uses multi-sig to prevent governments from seizing it's users deposits by utilizing integrated webmail PGP clients, I2P anonymization networks in addition to ""the government well-known"" Tor. They are fully decentralized (e.g. Axis Mundi, Bitmarkets, Shadow Markets), and therefore practically impossible to shut down by government agencies. The new anonymous, untraceable cryptocurrencies (e,g, monero, zcash) are ready for cryptomarket adoption with no possibility of revealing transaction history. The weakest point - cryptocurrency exchanges that governments can regulate and shut down can be reinforced by the use of decentralized crypto exchanges (e.g. bitsquare)."
The Peng Collective is a group of culture jamming activists based in Berlin. In September 2015, the Peng Collective staged an association named Intelexit helping anyone working for secret services to quit their jobs and transition to civil life, be it for ethical or psychological reasons.

Their recent work has focused on surveillance and the secret services, an issue which has failed to become a mainstream concern for civil society. In this presentation they will share their projects Intelexit and Call-A-Spy which attempt to dismantle the asymmetrical relationship between citizen and state agencies and provide an entry point to engage with the people working in the shadows of democracies.

Over the course of three years, I was able to research at the archive left by East Germany’s notorious secret police Stasi in search of the visual memories of Big Brother. What I did find gives us an unfiltered glimpse at a highly advanced security system from the inside. Even though this material is 30 years old, it still reveals the state of mind that drives the people who govern these organizations and who decide who might be seen as an enemy of the state.
